My introduction

I am a throat cancer survivor who is very spiritual and has a very positive out look towards living. Surgery and radiation treatment has created some physical changes to my being and has enhanced my inner spirit. I am cancer free and have been since my early treatment. The discomforts affecting many Black men my age I manage with vigilance by daily health practice. Spent some months in Ghana this year,2010, volunteering in a rural village teaching computers and other subjects. I have a desire to help those, especially children and those families affected by HIV/AIDS and the violence of war and poverty. I am a loving grandfather to 2 grandsons and a father to a single hardworking daughter. I am not affiliated with any one religion but I do have faith in the power and love of the Creator and ancestors. I fully appreciate the grace and love of our Creator who is always with us, protecting and guiding me/us in all our affairs. Looking for a loving,kind,gentle,a ffectionate woman with a basic Afrocentric view of life. I have love for all people but a special love and concern for the African family especially those like myself with a family history of slavery in the Americas....we are still recovering as children of the 50's. I am a firm believer that by practicing peace and love we can help heal ourselves and inspire others to do the same.. I am no Big Willy trying to showboat and buy the world. I am a basically quiet and simple guy on disability. I live modestly and if there is something I want I save,research,plan and discipline myself to obtain my goals. I believe in the power of music and the arts to lift the spirit and bring joy to an otherwise routine life. I don't drink, smoke or do any drugs, been there done that and have the scars to prove it. I have made mistakes in my life and chose to be aware of my behaviors so not to repeat the stumbling of life. I just ask that you walk with me along this journey and maybe we can dance and sing along the way while taking a few breaks to sit in the green grass by a calm lake or sit in awe at sunrise on the beach and feel the awe of just being alive to continue for just another...knowing and feeling the love and timelessness of our Creator...the Creation continues with an unknown past and unknown future...all we have is the Present...let's enjoy the gift.
