I never thought that I would find happiness like I have...
I've never been one to get on a dating website. I kept getting mail from BlackSingles, so one day I decided to try it out. I joined BlackSingles on July 16, 2006 for one month. The last day that my contract was to end I met my true love, which was on August 16 around 8:30 pm. I only had a couple of hours left. I IM'ed him and he did not response back right away. Then later on he response back to me. He gave me his phone number and we had a long talk. Then after a couple of days we met. He was everything that I wanted in a man. After 3 months we moved in together. We have been together for 2 years. Then on my birthday
July 18, 2008, he surprised me in bed with breakfast and had an engagement ring on the handle of a fork. Of course I accepted. We are very happy. We got married on April 17, 2009. Thank you BlackSingles! I never thought that I would find happiness like I have with Khamil. I have the best husband that I could ever ask for. We will be together 3 years on August 16, 2009. For anyone that does not believe that you can find your mate on BlackSingles, I am telling you that you can. Thanks again!

I knew that our love was mutual.
Justman1 and I met on Feb. 5, 2009, just two days after I've joined the site. He commented on my profile. His exact words were "you are all that and a bag of my grandma's biscuits. And don't get it twisted, my grandma's biscuits were the bomb. God bless her soul." He was such a gentleman with a great sense of humor, that it was my pleasure to respond to him favorably. From that day forward I knew he was someone I wanted to get to know with the possibility of meeting. We hit it off instantly! Our phone conversations would go on for hours. Even so, that one night he said "goodnight" and less than a minute later he called me back to talk for a couple of more hours. He later confessed that when he initially hung up, he felt compelled to talk to me some more. A month later we made arrangements to meet one another and it was apparent that we had a very strong connection. He lives in the D.C. area and I am in California. To date, we have been inseparable. We have traveled to Colorado to hike the Rocky Mountains, we have gone to Chicago and I have visited his hometown as well. This man is awesome! He threw me a surprise birthday party that had me floored and in tears. The night he professed his love for me, I screamed like a school girl. I was feeling the same way, but was unsure of telling him. After he shared his feelings, I knew then that our love was mutual. We are currently in a long-distance relationship, however, we are committed to making it work until we move closer in proximity. Every moment we spend together we cherish it and we anticipate our next moment. Before joining the site I practically gave up on finding the "one" for me and then I met Justman1. I was happy to know that with time and perseverance, true love is obtainable. It was his suggestion for me to share our story. Without your site our paths would not have crossed. One night when we were vibing, I looked him in his eyes, gave him a peck on the lips and screamed, "Thank you BlackSingles". We both got a kick out of that.

Two worlds working to become one...
After much hesitation, I decided to try online dating. I always stated my status as looking for friends, because to me a strong relationship should focus on a solid friendship first. Additionally, I wasn't sure if I truly was ready to date. So, not to give anyone false hope, I never said I was dating, just looking for friends, this in my opinion would reduce the possibilities of pressure.
Well, after a few months of conversations and a few unhopefuls, I met someone. My new love interest came when I really had become unhopeful. Had I never created a profile on BlackSingles, I honestly feel our paths would never have crossed. It took us a minute to finally meet in person, but once we met ...I instantly felt the first flutter within my heart. It was like I had an instant crush and I felt he could possibly be my soulmate; but my thoughts were, "Slow down, better be careful...sometimes things are too good to be true."
We first made contact on BlackSingles in October of 2007, met in person in March of 2008; now some months later we have become a couple. We decided we will walk and not run, continue to get to know each other and fortify our castle together, while strengthening our relationship and its future. Today, we have agreed to be committed to each other and work towards that next level all relationships aspire to. Two worlds working to become one...may God bless us and maybe this time next year "Stong_Willed" and "Canwetalkmydear" will be Mr & Mrs.

We dated and had so much in common.
I only posted my photo occasionally and luigid927 sent me a message inquiring about my city location. We happen to be in the same town. So after talking on the phone a few weeks we decided to meet. We dated and had so much in common. He bought me flowers quite often and is a Born Again Christian, which is very important to me. We met last August, became engaged in November and were married on Valentine's Day. You never know what God has planned for you sometimes. He can use a dating site such as this one to bring you your true Soul Mate.

We are kindred spirits
We started to exchange emails on the first week. I posted my picture and profile on this site. A month later, we decided to meet face-to-face.
It was love at first site. We simply could not believe how much we had in common. We were both once married to a partner that was our exact
opposite. We are kindred spirits. They say opposites attract, but it's so good to finally meet someone that can finish your sentence anticipating what you are about to say.
Please accept our thanks for creating a medium that allowed African-Americans and/or people of color that are serious about relationship to meet their soul mate. We were married exactly six months after our initial meeting.
