We dated and had so much in common.
I only posted my photo occasionally and luigid927 sent me a message inquiring about my city location. We happen to be in the same town. So after talking on the phone a few weeks we decided to meet. We dated and had so much in common. He bought me flowers quite often and is a Born Again Christian, which is very important to me. We met last August, became engaged in November and were married on Valentine's Day. You never know what God has planned for you sometimes. He can use a dating site such as this one to bring you your true Soul Mate.

We started to exchange emails on the first week. I posted my picture and profile on this site. A month later, we decided to meet face-to-face.
It was love at first site. We simply could not believe how much we had in common. We were both once married to a partner that was our exact
opposite. We are kindred spirits. They say opposites attract, but it's so good to finally meet someone that can finish your sentence anticipating what you are about to say.
Please accept our thanks for creating a medium that allowed African-Americans and/or people of color that are serious about relationship to meet their soul mate. We were married exactly six months after our initial meeting.

I always believed that what God has for us is for us, and past relationships whether good or bad, prepare us for the one that we will spend the rest of our lives with. After two unsuccessful attempts of matrimony, I almost gave up on true love. Then a friend recommended a dating website to me called Blacksingles.com. Much to my delight, a coworker had recommended the same site to Selisa. I was at the end of my subscription with all hope lost when I got a "smile" from the prettiest girl on the website. We exchanged emails in the system and finally went on our first date at Jerry's Seafood. Many dates followed and I realized that God had blessed me with the woman who touched my mind and soul. Luckily for me, she felt the same way.
How we got Engaged:

Two years after our first date, we went back to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner, Jerry’s Seafood. After the waitress took our drink and appetizer order I looked into her eyes and said, "Two years ago we had our first date right here. When I first saw you I thought you were beautiful, then after talking to you I found out you were also smart and funny, so I said to myself, don't do anything to mess this up so you can get a second date. After a few months of dating, we began courting and I said to myself, don't do anything to dishonor her or to dishonor our relationship. But tonight it is not about what I don't want to do, it is about what I do want to do, which is to love you, honor you, and spend the rest of my life making you happy." (Pulled out the ring) Selisa, will you marry me?" And she said YES!!!!!!

Before we knew we are inseparable.
Many men approached me on this site with intentions that differed from mine. However, one man arose from the crowd and claimed me without hesitation. With the phone conversations that followed, we realized that we were a couple almost instantly. Before we knew we are inseparable.
Take it from two people 500 miles apart, with this site you joined us as one. True love knows no boundaries. We just needed the right ingredients (ARadiantone and Mr Fixit3571) and the mixing bowl (Blacksingles.com) We started talking on the site on January 1,2009. The outcome is, I will be moving to his state at the end of the school year and I am interviewing for jobs as we speak. All stemming from a surprise visit(1st time face to face) on January 10, 2009, where MrFixit3571 asked me to marry him in a crowded restaurant with onlookers waiting my answer. Somewhere in the midst of my tears of joy, I said "YES!" without doubt. By the way, the diamond ring was absolutely gorgeous. BLING! BLING! I was teary eyed as I thought about it the entire evening! Anyway, thanks for everything.

MrFixit3571 and I will be exchanging vows in 21 days. We have posted our engagement on facebook. We are using an officiant for our union, who will mention how we met. Our first dance will be to "Computer Love". hehehe! He is still the same sweet man I talked to through this site. I thank you again. I would like to share my Blessing to all if given the opportunity!
